The damage is considerable… Monday January 6, 2025, around 1:15 a.m., the Aude firefighters were called for a impressive fire who had just declared himself on the balcony of an apartment located in a building sea ​​avenuehas Port-la-Nouvelle.

The fire, reported by several residents, broke out on the first floor “before spreading to the two upper floors”, specify the emergency services at Actu.fr. Several apartments were damaged by the disaster.

The origin of the flames has not yet been clarified.

A long-term intervention

The emergency response lasted almost 5 hours. 25 firefighters as well as a SAMU team were mobilized for a good part of the night in this building made up of 24 apartments and three businesses, including the Pharmacy of the Sea on the ground floor.

The Aude firefighters specify that “no casualties have been reported”. Not the slightest injured either, despite the importance of this fire.

31 people evacuated

Emergency services still evacuated 31 people during the intervention. Three relocations will be necessary. The municipality will take care of it during the day.
