Filmed in the Juranotably in Rousses and Bois d’Amont.last winterthe film of Franck Dubosc, A Bear in the Jura came out in theaters Wednesday, January 1 2025. Before the official release, a series of previews were organized in several municipalities in Haut-Jura, where the film was shot. Particularly at Casino de Morez cinemawhere in response to the public's enthusiasm, the second projection room was opened for the preview.
In the rows of seats, many spectators had either participated in castings, attended filming of certain scenes, or even participated in the production of this thriller hivernal, popular with the general public since its release.
A decor found at the Vide-Grenier
The garage sale flea market rue de l'Industrie in Morez played a large part in the sets of Franck Dubosc's film. “We followed the progress of the filming because for each scene Daphné, in charge of the sets, came with her shopping list. So for furnish the gendarmerie station reconstituted we provided shelves, furniture, and what to make archive files. In total 19 m3 decorations come from our warehouses: sofas, lamps, Christmas balls, curtains, ropes…” says Stephanie Crotti, flea market at the Vide Grenier in Morez.
“Everyone tells us it’s a good thriller, a bit harsh. We haven't been able to attend the premiere yet but of course we will go see it as soon as possible at the Casino cinema, which is very close to our business.”

« Oui it's good Valentine which appears in Franck Dubosc's film, it is the same bear who had already come to Morez for the sound and light show in September 2014, as part of Morez Terre de Mystères! » confirms Béatrix Piguet of Scéno Videowho then staged the sound and light.
“The bear Valentin, born in Texas in 2009, knows Haut Jura well, at the time he stayed at the house in Saint Laurent. When he came back to shoot the film last winter, I was invited to go see him again on the set of the film but I wasn't free that day, too bad! »

In the dark room of Casino cinemaMichel Girard, resident of Morez, attended the preview in the eyewear city.
“I was pleasantly surprised by Franck Dubosc's interpretation, we usually see him as rather comical, this is a serious subject but developed in a comical way, I tried to recognize the filming locations, without paying too much attention to the extras.”
Viewers of the film will indeed find familiar places and well-known landscapes of Haut-Jura on the big screen: from Les Rousses, to Bois d'Amont, via the Super U de Champagnole, or the Billaude waterfall.
