The new year is off to a strong start for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 as Treyarch has deployed a big update aimed at correcting some persistent bugs, while adjusting a few mechanics to balance the gaming experience and new features such as the Squid Game event. Here are the new features and the patch notes.

Multiplayer
Modes
- One, two, three, sun (NEW) : Young-hee is watching us, so don’t make a misstep at the wrong time. Enter the pitch at Red Card Stadium and play three rounds of One, Two, Three, Sun, each lasting two minutes. In the first round, no one receives a weapon. In rounds 2 and 3, you can pick up weapons from the ground and eliminate other competitors using melee attacks and finishing moves. There is only one simple rule: When Young-hee says “One,” the fight begins. If you move a finger after “Sun,” you’re toast.
- Pentathlon (NEW) : Prove you have what it takes to last by competing in a series of multiplayer modes to see who reigns supreme! Play Domination, Confirmed Elimination and Strategic Point, as well as two new mode variants: Piggy Bank Team Deathmatch and Roulette. In TDM Piggy Bank, each elimination adds points to the Mega Piggy Bank; Fight to grab the huge win when it drops during the game. In Roulette, one-shot kills using the gun are worth twice as many points, but with every shot fired, there’s a chance the gun will explode in your hands!
- Squid Game Moshpit (NOUVEAU) : Set the Moshpit Squid Game on fire in Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Hardpoint modes with a touch of originality as players have access to three important Squid Game-themed features:
- Scorestreak One, two, three, sun: Force your enemies to stop or be eliminated.
- Piggy Bank: Eliminated players have a chance to drop a Piggy Bank which slightly increases their score when they pick it up. For a bigger gain, look for the Mega Piggy Bank. Each elimination adds extra points to the mega piggy bank, so once it drops, fight to get all the points deposited inside.
- Roulette Revolver: The Roulette handgun appears in the center of the map. Grab it to activate a permanent drone effect when wielding it and eliminate enemies with a single hit, allowing you to earn more than double the normal score and get Scorestreaks faster. The problem? Your position will be visible to everyone and each shot risks detonating the weapon, dragging you down with it.
Among the other new features of this big update, Treyarch added the “high gambler” Joker which allows you to equip up to four killstreaks, and rebalanced many killstreaks. For example, the Automatic Turret now has more life, a lower rate of fire and it is accessible for 1000 points instead of 950 points. For its part, the Surveillance Helicopter is entitled to an increase in damage and precision and is accessible at 1050 points instead of 1100. Details are on the Activision blog.
