The cult show from 1998-2004, formerly broadcast on TF1, allowed the channel to break audience records, marking a real success for this highly anticipated comeback.

A resounding success in figures

With 1.8 million viewers on averagethe return of “Bigdil” established itself as one of the great successes of the evening, even surpassing “The Best Pastry Chef” on M6. RMC Story also shone on a key target for advertisers, women responsible for purchasing under 50 (FRDA-50)where it rose to first place, ahead of TF1 and M6.

This performance allows RMC Story to win the second best audience in the history of TNT on this target, just behind the broadcast of “Hunger Games” in 2015 on D8.

Lagaf’, between satisfaction and modesty

Contacted this Friday morning, Vincent Lagaf’ welcomed the news with his legendary relaxation:

“It makes you smile while drinking your coffee this morning. It’s very pleasant. I tell myself that the year is off to a good start,” he confides.

Although he relishes this success, the host nevertheless says he is detached from the audiences:

“I’m not one to rush to look at the numbers. They were sent to me and I appreciate them, especially when I receive messages from old friends that I haven’t heard for twenty years,” he jokes.

Taking refuge in his house in , near Cavalaire-sur-Mer, the host describes his life far from the spotlight:

“I live in my hill with my dogs, or sometimes on the sea with my jet-ski. I don’t read the newspapers, I don’t listen to the radio or the news. I am a bear in his cave. »

“I was right to wait”

For Vincent Lagaf’, this success is also the reward for a carefully considered decision:

“I have refused to restart Bigdil three times in the past. I’m not the type to beg to do television. I’m happy at home. But this time, they let me do it as before, in my own way. They trusted the old man. »

With around thirty shows already recorded, the host is delighted with the freedom he has been granted, while paying tribute to those who made this return possible:

“I have to thank Stéphane Sallé de Chou (general director of RMC Story), who had the idea of relaunching the show, and Antoine Henriquet, who had the courage to produce it. The whole team did an incredible job. »

A comeback that continues

The rest of the adventure is already planned: from the January 10the game will switch to prime-time every Friday evening with a new show at 9 p.m., followed by a rebroadcast. And if Lagaf’ agreed to divide your salary by seven to adapt the show to the budgetary realities of a TNT channel, he draws no bitterness from it, but rather immense satisfaction:

“This success proves that we can still make people dream while having fun. »

“Bigdil” is back, and Vincent Lagaf’ shows once again that he is one of the essential presenters of the French audiovisual landscape.
