He was attacked on January 1 by two men armed with a tuna can lid. Urfan Sharif, recently sentenced to life in prison in London for torturing and killing his daughter Sara, was attacked by two inmates at Belmarsh prison, reports the British daily The Sun. The 43-year-old man was injured in the face and neck, the tabloid said.
Sara, a 10-year-old Anglo-Pakistani girl, was beaten to death in August 2023 after years of mistreatment, the details of which, revealed at the trial, shocked the British. According to London police, the detainee's life is not in danger.
A hundred wounds inflicted
The father and stepmother of Sara Sharif, Beinash Batool, aged 30, were sentenced in mid-December to life in prison in London for the murder of the little girl. “It is not an exaggeration to describe as torture” what the little girl endured, declared the judge, recalling one by one the unbearable abuse that was inflicted on her. The little girl's autopsy revealed around a hundred internal and external injuries including head trauma, multiple fractures, bruises and scars, burn marks, including one with an iron, and human bite marks.
