Below is the press release sent this Thursday by the local leadership of the Europe Ecologie les Vert party:
“As we begin a pivotal year, the one which marks the end of the first quarter of a century, the ecological emergency has never been so palpable. Climate change is disrupting our lives, worsening inequalities, weakening our democracies and calling into question the future we want to build.
Faced with these challenges, Les Écologists de Côte-d’Or take their responsibilities. We use ecology as a compass to transform a system based on predation, whether environmental, animal or human, into a sustainable and equitable model. We know that solutions already exist: they are emerging from associations, resident groups and local initiatives throughout the department. But to meet the challenges, we must move faster, further and ensure the coherence of public policies. Supporting actions beneficial to the climate and biodiversity means acting for all citizens.
This is why we are launching today our preparation for the municipal elections of 2026. Our ambition: to create the conditions to lead municipalities and carry out municipal and intermunicipal projects capable of responding to the challenges of tomorrow. To do this, we call on all those who share our vision to join our open working groups, where everyone can contribute to building concrete solutions to: strengthen public services, develop sustainable mobility, rethink housing, protect the environment. environment, and guarantee local, quality food. With this dynamic, we not only want to act locally, but also influence national and European policies by showing that change begins here, in Côte-d’Or. Together, let’s make the 2026 municipal elections a turning point for ecology and our territories.
