The rain is heavy in the Orne department this Wednesday, January 8, 2025, and the first consequences are already visible. Thus, the Vère valley between Pont-Erembourg (Calvados) and Saint-Georges-des-Groseillers (Orne) is affected by heavy precipitation.
Around 4 p.m., traffic is still possible, but delicate.
Parts of the road flooded
The Vère, a tributary river of the Noireau, begins to leave its bed and rises to impressive speedthe road is even flooded on certain portions. Prevention signs are installed at the bottom of the section, towards Pont-Érembourg, to encourage caution.

Yellow alert in the Orne department
As a reminder, the Orne department has been placed on rain-flood yellow alert since this Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at noon. The alert is maintained until midnightat least.
Raw coast, yellow vigilance is in progress and is extended throughout the day of Thursday January 9, 2025.
Certain watercourses in the Orne department are placed on yellow alert for several days already. This is the case of the Orne river, but also the Noireau.
