This Friday, January 3, several people were held hostage at the central house in Arles, in Provence, including 3 healthcare workers and a prison officer. A doctor was freed by the hostage taker shortly before 3 p.m. Gérald Darmanin, the new Minister of Justice, ensures that he is “monitoring the evolution of the situation in real time”. The hostage taker, aged 37, would be incarcerated for acts of rape at gunpoint. He threatened five people with homemade picks and asked to be changed prison center.
