This program, which consists of the delivery of housing and lots of serviced land for the benefit of the households concerned, aims to improve the urban landscape, facilitate access to all local services, and declare Es-Semara a city ​​without slums, according to data provided Thursday by the province of Es-Semara.

Mobilizing a total budget of 532 million dirhams (MDH), the rehousing and resettlement operation also aims to improve the conditions and living environment of families, and to reduce the housing deficit in the urban environment. , specify these data presented during a field visit carried out by the wali of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, governor of the province of Laâyoune, Abdeslam Bekrate, the governor from the province of Es-Semara, Brahim Boutoumilate, and elected officials.

In this context, logistical and human resources were deployed to carry out the demolition of some 3,724 unsanitary habitats spread over a total area of ​​317,778 m².

As part of the new development model for the southern provinces, this project is the subject of a multi-party partnership agreement between the General Directorate of Local Authorities (219.45 MDH), the Ministry of Urban Development. National Territory, Urban Planning, Housing and City Policy (232.75 MDH), the Agency for the Promotion and Economic and Social Development of the Southern Provinces (66.50 MDH), and the Provincial Council of Es-Semara (13.30 MDH).

Subsequently, the wali and the delegation accompanying him followed explanations on the rate of progress of the work of carrying out the second tranche of the resettlement program for the inhabitants of the “Rbieb” and “El Gouiez” slum districts in the north of the city which reached about 25%.

Being the subject of a multi-party agreement, this project which consists of making a new subdivision viable for a total investment of more than 260 MDH, over an area of ​​24.38 Ha, concerns the equipment of 1,089 lots of land, including the delegated project owner is the company Al Omrane Al Janoub.

To guarantee the success of this operation, committees were set up to ensure rigorous monitoring of the construction of these housing units, in order to guarantee their quality as well as that of the infrastructure, and to ensure that they are delivered within the set deadlines. in accordance with agreed timetables.
