Barthélémy Dias is going through a difficult period politically. According to Point Actuthe former mayor of Dakar lost the leadership of Taxawu Senegalpolitical movement founded by Khalifa Sall.
This situation occurs in a context where Barthélémy Dias finds himself without a solid political apparatus, further weakening his position within the coalition. Khalifa Sall, for his part, regained his leadership chair thanks to the support of mayors who are members of the municipal council, thus strengthening his influence in the organization.

Barthélémy Dias was recently dismissed by the Dakar Court of Appeal, which rejected his appeal against his dismissal from Dakar town hall. This decision follows a prefectural decree dismissing him from his functions, a measure which he vigorously contests. Despite these legal setbacks, Barthélémy Dias is not giving up and plans to take the matter to the Supreme Court for abuse of power, according to his lawyer, Me Amadou Sall.
