After its victory at the Morocco rally in October, the new Dacia Sandrider buggy is tackling a much more publicized rally-raid: the Dakar. The Romanian brand obviously dreams of winning this legendary event from its first participation. For this, she will be able to rely on Nasser Al-Attiyah, who has already won the race five times, on the promising Spanish driver Cristina Gutierrez and on Sébastien Loeb, who is still chasing his first success here. Not to mention their respective co-drivers, who are of crucial importance in this discipline. But we will also have to count on an armada of Toyota Hilux, a few private Mini JCWs or even the new Ford M-Sport team and its Ranger Raptor T1+.
100 hours of air time on the L’Equipe channel
So many good opportunities to follow this Dakar 2025, which will mainly be broadcast on the private channel L'Équipe, on channel 21 of TNT. No less than 100 hours of airtime are announced there from January 3 to 17 with four daily appointments:
- 11:50 a.m.: the stage live presented by Messaoud Benterki with France Pierron and Mylène Dorange on site.
- 2 p.m.: “Dakar Vintage” to relive the great moments of the race since its creation in 1978
- 6:10 p.m.: the “Dakar Journal” presented by Messaoud Benterki. 5 minutes on today's stage to understand the challenges of the race.
- 8:05 p.m.: the “Grand summary” which looks back for almost an hour on the strong images of the day with the reactions of the competitors.
Please note, from one day to the next, some of these times may change. The prologue of January 3 will, for example, be broadcast from 8:30 a.m. and the finish will also be the subject of a special system. To be sure not to miss anything, it is therefore best to check the TV program daily. Former ski champion and winner of the Dakar in 2006, Luc Alphand is one of the channel's consultants. He is joined for the first time by Daniel Elena, former co-driver of Sébastien Loeb known in particular for his outspokenness.
France Télévisions is reducing its size
France Télévisions, the historic broadcaster of this rally-raid, has for its part seriously reduced the scale. But he will still give a small place to the race in various meetings:
- 7:50 p.m.: “Tout le Sport” on France 3 from Monday to Saturday
- 8:10 p.m.: “Image of the day” on France 3 from Monday to Friday with a “Dakar special” on January 4, 11 and 18
- 8:05 p.m.: “Stade 2” on France 3 on Sunday
In addition to that, a 15-minute “Dakar newspaper” will be broadcast daily on France.tv.
52 minutes per day on Eurosport
Finally, the Eurosport paid package will also offer its contribution. It will take the form of a 52-minute daily program with the best moments of the day. It will be visible at 9 p.m. on Eurosport from January 3 to 11, then on Eurosport 2 from January 12 to 17. Rebroadcasts are also scheduled at midnight on Eurosport 1 from January 3 to 17, and on D+1 on Eurosport 1 at 8:30 a.m.
When and where will the first stage of the Dakar 2025 take place?
On the track as well as virtually thanks to simracing, automobiles are a passion that I often live intensely. What could be better, then, than being able to share it through journalism, by addressing all the facets of this formidable invention and seeking to be of service to the reader at the same time?
