A cult phrase will bring back some memories: “My friend Vincent“. This Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 9:10 p.m., the bigdil returns to RMC Story in a version which includes all the ingredients of the original version. Indeed, from the decor to the almost complete team, including Vincent Lagaf's famous sidekick, Bill the Extraterrestrial, the game follows in the footsteps of the version broadcast between 1998 and 2004, but without the presence of Ramuncho. For the occasion, Tele-Leisure met the star host of the show as well as the one who voices Bill in the cult game. They both told us about their meeting, a few years before the creation of the program.
Vincent Lagaf explains the presence of Gilles Vautier, the interpreter of Bill the Extraterrestrial, for the return of bigdil : “It is inseparable from this program”
For Vincent Lagaf, there is no question of taking over bigdil without Gilles Vautier, his partner. He looks back on their meeting which took place under the best auspices. “We met, he was a pianist, a comedian in a cabaret called Carré Blanc. And I arrived in the cabaret. I was a little known, I was doing The Class at the time. And he recognized me and chastised me. It was war for two hours, he was yelling at me, it made the audience laugh. And I turned it on and made the audience laugh. And it was ping-pong like that for two hours. Very quickly, we said to ourselves, we should do something together“, he tells us. Twenty years after the game stopped, the bigdil comes back and Bill is still there. “Gilles Vautier is inseparable from this program” the host explains to us with a smile.
“It made me dream a little” : Gilles Vautier remembers his meeting with Vincent Lagaf before Le bigdil
For his part, Gilles Vautier remembers almost the same thing: “When I started at Carré Blanc, when I was very young, there were technicians from a production company who came. And they were technicians from The Class. It made me dream a little, these guys who came, who were drinking, who had films and everything. I was 23, 25 years old. And one day they came to me and said: 'We'll bring you some friends'. And the friends in question were the holders of The Class. I remember three who came: Postage stamp which has disappeared a little today, but also Jean-Marie Bigard and Vincent Lagaf.“The actor even remembers their first exchange:”Vincent, the first thing he said to me was: 'Don't be smart, you'“Since their meeting in 1986, the two men have maintained an inseparable bond, the bigdil is an illustration of this.
