For some, the year we have just experienced has opened up a world of possibilities, it has brought a lot of happiness and positivity. For others, it was marked by trials and difficulty. And it is precisely all of this that Princess Märtha-Louise wanted to illustrate in the message that she revealed on her Instagram page for her wishes, this December 31.

In this publication, she shares never-before-seen images from the past year. We thus discover photos and videos of her wedding, moments of life with her family and friends, all this to a poetic soundtrack. It seems that the concept of the video came from the Instagram account momentary_existentialism, which garnered several thousand “likes” representing the year that many consider to be theirs, full of contradictions.

“What really matters is my health”

In the soundtrack, we can notably hear: “I don’t hate you, 2024, but you have been a difficult year, full of challenges, changes and learning. You showed me that life can change in the blink of an eye and you taught me to trust myself more. But above all, you made me understand that what really matters is my health, whether physical, emotional or mental.”

It is not insignificant that Märtha-Louise chose this audio for her retrospective video. Indeed this year the princess experienced great joys with her marriage last August, but also great sorrows with the scandals weighing on the crown and with the illness of her husband. As Durek Verrett suffers from kidney failure, he must endure regular dialysis, the last of which prevented him from joining the royal family for the Christmas ceremony at the church.

Reach out

The caption of his post presents his wishes and some advice for next year: “I wish all your beautiful souls a very happy new year with an abundance of laughter, joy, health, wealth, friendship and above all ‘LOVE. I hope we can open our hearts to each other in 2025. Instead of judging each other, let’s see each other’s potential. Let us reach out to our neighbors and be generous to one another. I hope 2025 gives us all kindness and love.”

This is not the first time this year that the daughter of King Harald V has encouraged her subscribers to provide support to those who need it. A week ago, for Christmas, she paid tribute to her ex-husband Ari Behn and raised awareness about suicide and depression in her community. She wrote: “Because today, in this time, the darkest of the year, it is more important than ever to reach out. To be there for those who need it. I hope you dare to talk about your difficulties. So that we can reach out to you. Because there is always hope.”
