Thirty secret Russian military files reveal the Kremlin’s preparation plans for war with Japan and South Korea. These documents date from the years 2008 to 2014, but remain “relevant” vis-à-vis the Russian strategy led by Vladimir Putin, reveals the Financial Times in a survey published Tuesday, December 31. Indeed, the war in Ukraine has already spread eastward with the entry of North Korean forces into the conflict.
This leak of files therefore reveals the preparation for a conflict on the eastern border and the targets favored by the Kremlin for bombings in Japan and South Korea. Thus, of the 160 locations listed, 82 are military targets, namely command headquarters of the armed forces of the two countries, radars, air or naval bases, etc.

Civil infrastructure is not spared: whether factories, energy sector installations or road infrastructure. In the event of a Russian attack, the Kanmon tunnel which connects the islands of Honshu and Kyushu to Japan could be destroyed as could many bridges and roads in order to avoid “the grouping of troops in operational areas”.
