NFL – The last Monday Night Football of the year between the Lions and the 49ers achieved high audience ratings in the United States.
For the last Monday Night Football of the season, the Americans were there in front of their small screen (well small or big screen depending on the size of the TV they received as a Christmas gift)! The Week 17 meeting between the Detroit Lions and the San Francisco 49ers achieved the highest audience rating for a Monday Night Football of the entire 2024 season.
In fact, at least 22.2 million American viewers were in front of their TV for this last Monday Night Football of the season which was broadcast jointly on ABC and ESPN. A figure that puts this match between the Detroit Lions and the San Francisco 49ers in the top 5 most watched Monday games since ESPN acquired the rights to this broadcast slot in 2006.
Even if this match achieved a very high audience score, Monday Night Football still remains below the audiences achieved by Netflix this same week with the Christmas matches, once again demonstrating the power of the NFL on television American.
A historic audience performance in this 2024 season for a match between the Detroit Lions and the San Francisco 49ers which however did not have major implications for the playoffs since the 49ers are already eliminated from the race. This tends to prove once again the immense burgeoning popularity of the Detroit Lions in recent months.
A popularity which should lead to a new audience success next Sunday during the decisive match of week 18 between the Lions and the Vikings. Just to finish the 2024 season in the best possible way!
