Cutting of mature trees in the protected heritage site in Saint-André-de-Kamouraska
Around ten trees were severely cut down this fall in the Saint-André-de-Kamouraska cemetery, an initiative by the factory which sparked the indignation of several citizens. No permit request has been sent to the Municipality, even though the heritage site has been protected by municipal regulations for 20 years.

When a small community mobilizes for its leisure activities
Have you ever seen an outdoor municipal skating rink whose boards are completely covered with sponsors, every inch of which is covered in the colors of companies and partners? Agree that this is rather rare. However, this is the case of the new ice cream from Saint-Éloi in Les Basques. An achievement which illustrates, like a mosaic, all the love and pride of its community towards its leisure activities.

Four brothers and sisters at the same CPE in Dégelis
This story is that of a small-large family of five children from Dégelis. When we add to this portrait a total gap of less than five years between the four youngest, this story takes on particular colors, those of unconditional love and brotherhood. We can only imagine the pace of life of the two parents, Fanny Beaulieu and Marc Moreau, who go every morning to drop off four children at the Calinours early childhood center in Dégelis.

Physical education classes have changed for the better over the past 20-30 years. Disciplines that sometimes even take them far from the traditional gymnasium…for their greatest pleasure.

To Ile aux Basques by car
“I’m talking to you about a time that those under twenty cannot know,” sang Charles Aznavour with La Bohème. These good old days, the oldest will say, are fading away like the ice floes on the river. An ice floe that once made it possible to reach Ile aux Basques, opposite Trois-Pistoles… in a Renault 5, no less!

Yet this is what adventure guide and biologist Charlène Dupasquier has been experiencing since living with axial spondyloarthritis, a little-known autoimmune disease. A continued quest for adaptation and resilience that will soon extend off the beaten track between Ottawa and Percé.
