Hundreds of citizens gathered in the city of Banha, in Qalyubia Governorate, to celebrate New Year’s Eve, with Santa Claus clothes and the Christmas tree topping the atmosphere.
To celebrate this occasion, a party was held with music and entertainment shows in the puppet theatre, and members of the dancing group dressed as Santa Claus and cartoon characters associated with the celebrations.
Tonight, the largest Christmas tree was decorated, which took 3 months to make and install, and is considered the most prominent in the governorate’s New Year celebrations.
For his part, Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Qalyubia, said that New Year’s celebrations are proceeding normally, noting that the maximum level of preparedness has been raised, the state of emergency continues throughout the celebrations, and security measures have been tightened around parks and gathering places.
Attiya added that the level of maximum preparations has been raised and facilities and places of worship have been secured to coincide with the celebration of Christmas and New Year, with readiness to receive any reports or emergency situations arriving from citizens and to coordinate with the emergency and operations room in the governorate immediately.
The governor indicated that he directed coordination with security and traffic to secure vital facilities, continuous monitoring of gardens and public parks, facilitating traffic movement, and coordination with public hospitals, departments, health units, and medical centers to follow up on the presence of shifts during the holiday period and to increase the number of doctors and nurses in shifts, and to coordinate with all directors of service departments in cities and neighborhoods to raise Maximum readiness during the New Year holidays to work on solving any emergency problems.
