As a result, players Dani Olmo and Víctor were not officially registered in the FC Barcelona first team.

LaLiga announced on Tuesday regarding FC Barcelona’s salary cap regarding its new signings, saying they cannot be registered from January 2, 2025, meaning they will not be included in the Blaugrana squad .

“To date, December 31, FC Barcelona has not presented any alternative which, in accordance with LaLiga’s economic control regulations, would allow the registration of a player from January 2,” the league said.

Therefore, Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor remain unregistered.

Before this LaLiga announcement, FC Barcelona informed that it had requested a new license from the Royal Spanish Federation (RFEF) for players Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, who had to be registered with LaLiga before January 1.

Furthermore, the Catalan club denied having “requested or received any moratorium from any other body for the registration it requests.”

The Barcelona intends to register Olmo and Víctor taking advantage of part of the new VIP boxes at the Spotify Camp Nou, for which it should generate around 100 million euros.

LaLiga was awaiting the finalization of all required documentation regarding new contracts and payment guarantees from the Blaugrana.

The operation, concluded by club president Joan Laporta in Dubai last week, was activated after an unsuccessful legal attempt to register the two players, and it should also allow Barça to return to the 1:1 rule of financial “fair play”.
