The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) will further strengthen its comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia, its top leader Kim Jong Un said in a congratulatory message to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
SEOUL, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) — The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) will further strengthen its comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia, its top leader Kim Jong Un said in a congratulatory message to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In the message published Tuesday by the official KCNA news agency, Mr. Kim, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and president of State Affairs of the DPRK, extended his New Year greetings to Mr. Poutine.
On his own behalf and on behalf of the people of the DPRK and all service personnel of the Armed Forces, he conveyed his best wishes to the people of Russia and all service personnel of the Russian Armed Forces.
Noting that the past year saw traditional friendly relations between the DPRK and Russia reach a new high, Kim expressed his willingness to strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, according to KCNA.
In a New Year’s message to Kim earlier this month, Putin said his country would continue to coordinate with the DPRK to address common challenges and threats in the coming year, KCNA reported.■
