Before this declaration from LaLiga, FC Barcelona had informed that it had requested a new license from the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) for the players Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, who had to be registered in LaLiga before January 1.
On Tuesday, LaLiga announced in a statement regarding FC Barcelona’s salary cap that “as of today, December 31, FC Barcelona has not submitted any alternative which, in compliance with LaLiga’s financial control regulations , would allow players to register from January 2.”
As a result, neither Dani Olmo nor Pau Víctor could be registered.
Prior to this LaLiga statement, FC Barcelona reported that it had requested a new license from the RFEF for players Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, who had to be registered in LaLiga before January 1.

Furthermore, the Catalan club denied that it “has requested or received any moratorium from any other organization for the registration it requests.”
Barcelona aims to register Olmo and Víctor through the concession of part of the new VIP spaces at Spotify Camp Nou, for which they should receive around 100 million euros.
LaLiga was waiting for the Catalan entity to complete all the documentation it had requested regarding the new contracts and their payment guarantees.
This operation, finalized by the club’s president, Joan Laporta, in Dubai last week and activated after unsuccessfully exhausting legal avenues to register the two players, should also allow Barcelona to return to the financial fair play rule of 1:1.
This means that in addition to ensuring the continuity of Olmo and Víctor in the first team, Barça could operate at full capacity in the next transfer market.
