On December 31st, it’s not just the elite of the hit industry who will be on stage. Artists like Shirin David and Bausa are also expected on New Year’s Eve. Which musician can be seen where?

On Tuesday evening, viewers will be spoiled for choice. For the first time in years, ARD and ZDF are showing a live New Year’s Eve show at the same time. While Das Erste has always relied on a recording in recent years, the audience in the Second received a live broadcast from the Brandenburg Gate.

This year, Johannes B. Kerner and Andrea Kiewel will again host their New Year’s Eve show, which is called “Welcome 2025”. Meanwhile, ARD is bringing Florian Silbereisen into the program. The “dream ship” captain will be on stage for “New Year’s Eve Schlagerbooom 2025 live” on Tuesday evening in the FC Bayern basketball arena in the BMW Park in Munich.

While Florian Silbereisen’s New Year’s Eve show focuses on artists from the hit industry, Andrea Kiewel and Johannes B. Kerner’s guest list looks much more mixed. Rapper Shirin David will also perform at the Brandenburg Gate around 11:30 p.m.

The New Year’s Eve celebration at the Brandenburg Gate has been broadcast on television since the 1990s. ZDF has been broadcasting the format under the name “Welcome” since 2010. At that time, Mirjam Weichselbraun led the evening with Norbert Lehmann. Andrea Kiewel took over the moderation in 2013, and since 2016 she has been in front of the camera for the format together with Johannes B. Kerner.

In recent years, ARD has relied on “The Big New Year’s Eve Show”. In 2023 the celebration was moderated by Hans Sigl and Francine Jordi. The show was recorded in November and only aired on New Year’s Eve. This year there will be a live show for which Florian Silbereisen will bring numerous pop stars onto the stage.
