Two new suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of Claudia Iacono, the spouse of an individual linked to organized crime, the Montreal City Service reported Friday. In May 2023, the woman was shot and killed while driving her car in the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough.

The two individuals, two men aged 28 and 31, were arrested Friday morning, and appeared at the Montreal courthouse during the day.
“These are the third and fourth arrests in this investigation,” recalls the SPVM, in a press release issued Friday.
A first suspect, aged 28, was charged with first degree murder in June 2023. He was apprehended near Toronto with the support of the Ontario Provincial Police. In August, a second suspect, aged 30, was arrested. He faces charges of premeditated murder.
The victim, Claudia Iacono, was the partner of Antonio Gallo, one of the sons of the late mafia boss Moreno Gallo. On May 16, 2023, the 39-year-old woman was hit by a firearm projectile while she was driving her car. She then hit her business on rue Jean-Talon, Salon Deauville Coiffure & Spa, in the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce district.
The two individuals arrested Friday will remain detained pending further legal proceedings, added the SPVM.
