The Prefecture of the Somme has issued a series of decrees as New Year’s Eve approaches, to avoid disturbances of several kinds.
No rave party for the new year
This was already the case at the end of 2023, with the Prefecture citing several incidents which had marked the previous changes of year.
Festive musical gatherings “of the free-party, rave-party or teknival type” are thus prohibited throughout the Somme department, until Thursday January 2, 2025.
No fireworks in your garden
More broadly, it is forbidden to have fireworks at home to celebrate the change of year…
So that the end-of-year celebrations take place without risk and for the safety of all, the Prefect of the Somme has taken administrative measures regulating the take-away sale of fuel and the use of fireworks.
The sale, transport and use of pyrotechnic devices and fireworks are therefore prohibited until Thursday January 2, 2025 at 8 a.m.
This ban extends to the sale and purchase of fuel in any transportable container.
