POLITICS – Make your wishes. Marine Le Pen speaks of 2025 as a “ decisive year » to restore France and the EU “in the race of History”in a video published this Tuesday, December 31 on social networks, a few hours before the traditional speech by the President of the Republic at the Élysée.

The leading figure of the National Rally castigates the “institutional spin” of the dissolution of the National Assembly and attacks Emmanuel Macron, head of state “definitely discredited” according to her. In a context of “ parliamentary and governmental paralysis », Marine Le Pen is therefore banking, without really saying it, on the hasty departure of the President of the Republic and the advent of a new election as the only solutions to the crisis.

“It is from the people and therefore through a democratic decision that the happy outcome will come to a situation that everyone deplores and from which France must emerge as quickly as possible”she says, a few days after having confided in the press that she was preparing for an early presidential election, convinced of power “reverse these disastrous dynamics”.

The president of the RN group in the Assembly, threatened by a sentence which could make her ineligible from the end of March after the trial of the European parliamentary assistants affair, also castigates the political forces whose only program is “to stay in power. » And to insist: “ 2025 will be a decisive year in which the political transition which alone can reverse the course of events will undoubtedly be decided. »

A speech of barely five minutes which clearly reflects the position of the elected representatives of the far-right party for several months. On a ridge line, they do not miss an opportunity to raise the possibility of the resignation of the President of the Republic, but without directly calling on him to leave.

The fact remains that they are not alone in pushing this idea into the political debate. In addition to the elected representatives of France Insoumise, who have been raising this subject since the result of the 2024 legislative elections and who are even pleading, alone, for the dismissal of the Head of State, several voices say “ moderate » joined the movement.

Thus, the mayor Les Républicains de Meaux (Seine-et-Marne) Jean-François Copé or the centrist president of the Normandy region Hervé Morin have in turn mentioned this fall the resignation of Emmanuel Macron as an inevitable event to get out of the crisis. A hypothesis that the principal concerned has always ruled out until now.
