Does Wibra mean something to you? If you don’t know this Dutch brand yet, it shouldn’t be long before you do. Specializing in hard discount, it plans to expand in France in 2025 after the opening of its first store last October in Lambersart, near Lille, reports

. This will be a new major competitor for Action or even Lidl in a sector which continues to develop.
Faced with high inflation in recent years, the French are looking to save money and this type of store is enjoying growing success in France. Action has also been voted the French people’s favorite brand in 2024.
A Wibra store in Paris?
Wibra, created in 1956, also offers low prices and should quickly find its customers. Especially since it already has solid know-how with 220 stores in the Netherlands and 50 in Belgium. The first French store, which covers 500 m², would already attract around 2,000 customers per day.
“We want to distinguish ourselves by offering a clear and simple concept, which makes the choice easier for the home manager. The quality-price ratio is very reasonable and accessible to all budgets. (…) We are here for both budget-conscious customers and bargain hunters”
assures Claudine Nachtergaele, the national director of Belgium, cited by

The brand would first consider new openings in the North, in Roubaix and Tourcoing, before setting up elsewhere in France, and in particular in Paris.
