More than 300 homes without heating on New Year’s Day

On Wednesday January 1, 362 homes were deprived of gas following a leak detected at the corner of rue de la Bergerie and rue de Montferrier, in the center of the village.

It was a resident who, smelling a strong smell of gas, alerted the firefighters around 12:15 p.m. The latter dispatched a GRDF agent who went to the scene. Around 4:30 p.m. a team of technicians was at work, the street was already cordoned off.

The GRDF territorial communications service reports the rest of the operations: “At first we did everything to ensure that no customer was cut off, we thought we could isolate this part of the network. But unfortunately this was not possible. The security operation was carried out favorably above all.” Around 8 p.m. via social networks, residents were wondering and worried about no longer having gas, and therefore no heating.

“The repair was completed at 10:30 p.m., and we were unable to communicate at that time.”

Thursday morning January 2, GRDF contacted the town hall to inform and see where to intervene as a priority to restart the meters. Reinforcement agents were on the ground from the morning to visit subscribers offering to intervene on the meter if necessary, as they were not authorized to intervene at home. For some customers at midday it was still difficult to restart a boiler independently.

The Villa Impressa nursing home, rue du Château, was impacted by this outage and was only able to regain its heating system on Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m. Rue de la Bergerie remains closed to traffic during the earthworks. necessary.
