On February 1, 2025, the regulated electricity price should decrease by around 14% for 30 million households. The Energy Regulatory Commission is also planning changes to the “off-peak” system mid-year.
After chaotic increases (4% on February 1, 2022, 15% on February 1, 2023, 10% on August 1, 2023, and 9% last February), the price of electricity will finally fall next year – a first since August 2018 – for a large majority of French people. From February 1, consumers dependent on the regulated tariff will see their bills drop for equivalent consumption. How much will the bill drop and who will benefit?
