The Norwegian Fredrik Moeller won in style in the super-G in Bormio this Sunday. A nice surprise for the one who won his first World Cup victory. Two French people are in the top ten.
The young Norwegian couldn’t believe spending so much time in the leader’s chair. This Sunday, Fredrik Moeller created a surprise by winning in style in the super-G in Bormio. The one who took his first steps in the World Cup last season went for a first podium, but above all a first victory at the highest level.
The 24-year-old skier delivered an impeccable performance, very fast at the end to win on the Stelvio, once again very tricky. The victory of confirmation for the one who finished fourth in the two previous super-G and 20th in the downhill this Saturday.
A surprise victory which comes after that of Alexis Monney the day before. The Swiss also won for the first time in the World Cup. On fire this weekend in Bormio, the 24-year-old skier distinguished himself once again by taking third place (+0.24), although he had never done better than 17th place before on the super -G.
Note the return to the podium of the Austrian, Vincent Kriechmayr, in second place (+0.20), after having only finished sixth at Beaver Creek. LMost of the favorites missed out on this last super-G of the year, often being very cautious in the first part of the race, like Mattia Casse (winner in Val Gardena) (11th, +1, 04), or the Swiss Justin Murisier (15th, +1.38).
The Swiss leader, Marco Odermatt who, after a shy fifth place (+0.45) on the descent on Saturday, took fifth place this Sunday. The last time he did worse than fifth place in super-G was in March 2022, in Norway, in Kvitfjell (27th)
Allègre and Loriot in the game
Affected by a virus for several days, the Blues did not do poorly this Sunday on the difficult Stelvio track. Best Tricolor of the day, Nils Allègre is satisfied with 8th place (+0.74). Great race from Florian Loriot, who signs his first top 10 in the World Cup, author of a very good start to the race, he is 9th (+0.91). Blaise Giezendanner will be satisfied with 17th place (+1.58).
Further down the rankings, we find Adrien Théaux who had given up the descent on Saturday, too ill. He finished in 26th place (+2.39). For his part, Nils Alphand took 35th place (+3.43)
Frustration again for Matthieu Bailet who came out after the first intermediary on an inside fault.
For his first start in the World Cup, Léo Ducros achieved a good 39th place (+5.44).
He is also ill, note that Alexis Pinturault ultimately did not start the super-G: “I am not in the physical and mental condition to start this morning. »
