Squid Game 2 lands on Netflix: the second season of the record-breaking series
The wait is over and… Squid Game 2 is finally available todayThursday 26 December 2024, are Netflix starting from 9.00 am Italian time. The second season of the famous South Korean series is now visible for all fans on Netflix, the platform that launched it for the first time in September 2021 with its first season and which made it a global phenomenon in all respects. An unprecedented and unrivaled success: Squid Game 1 it has indeed become the greatest debut among Netflix original seriesbeating the previous record set by the debut of Bridgerton.
But what should we expect from this one second seasonalready previously previewed last October on the occasion of Lucca Comics & Games 2024? On that occasion, Hwang Dong-hyuk, father of the series he created, wrote and directed, presented Squid Game 2 through some previews. Now the second season is finally available and, from the plot to the news compared to the previous one, there are many aspects to consider.

As already anticipated by the director himself, Squid Game 2 presents itself as a new chapter compared to the previous one. The first season, Hwang Dong-hyuk explained, focused on the deadly game and on how player 456 achieved victory; the second, however, focuses its attention on the memories of that experience and on the player's intention, Seong Gi-hunto return to the game to stop its deadly effect and expose the organization who maneuvers it behind the scenes.
The protagonist, exploiting luck as a resource, thus begins to investigate in search of the truth, in a rather complicated path and with even more difficult gaming challenges. The characteristics of the first season are the same, from the number of players to the green tracksuitsas well as most of the locations, from the dormitory to the colored staircase; as for the news, however, they join the cast new characterswhich act in new settingsand are introduced new games in the killing machine of Squid Game 2.
