Volunteering that she offers whenever she can to sports associations and clubs in Marmandecommune of Lot-et-Garonne where it is now installed. A choice far from trivial and amazing motivations which contrast with the stereotypes that may surround the status of volunteer.

“I’m not the type to sit in front of the television”

If Brigitte decided to settle down in Marmande, it is partly thanks to sport. “It played a role in my choice, undeniably. I have been immersed in the world of sport and associations since I was little,” she explains.

Very active, she can’t stand the idea of ​​doing nothing. Quickly, she tried to open the doors of clubs to give her time, but not only that. “I was new when I arrived in Marmande and clearly volunteering helped me meet people» specifies the one who also joined the council of elders of this city.

I think that today a lot of people have time to give but it’s never easy to open the door to a club, especially if you don’t know that world.

But what is surprising about Brigitte is that she does not seek any recognition and that she does not do it for others. ” That I’m looking for a certain atmosphere . I like to give my time, but I do it above all for myself.It’s a form of solidarity by doing something that I enjoy. »

She didn’t hesitate for a single second when we told her about the Office Marmandais du Sport’s project related to volunteering. “Attending the show is what I like. So being an actress behind the scenes, I find it stimulating. » Because volunteering yes, but not just any volunteering: “Sport is really what interests me, I’m not sure I have the same motivation to go to solidarity and social associations for example.»
