A group of supporters “was the victim of a collective attack while they were in a bar in the city,” the club said.

Two supporters were “stab wounds” by Bologna fans on Tuesday November 26 in the evening, on the eve of the Champions League match between the two teams, Losc announced in a press release released on Wednesday. “A group of Lille supporters (…) were victims of a collective attack while they were in a bar in the city”indicated the northern club. “During this ambush, which reportedly involved around eighty attackers, two of our supporters were notably injured with knives and received medical treatment”he clarified.

Several Italian media, citing local police, reported that some 80 individuals, some armed with metal bars and belts, had attacked around thirty Mastiff supporters. The Irish pub where the incident took place, located in the center of the city, still bore traces of the clashes on Wednesday, such as the broken window of its front door, AFP noted. Le Losc “unreservedly condemns this cowardly and intolerable attack, which contravenes all the values of football and popular support” et “provides support to the supporters who are victims of these attacks and wishes them to recover well”. The club specifies that the Italian law enforcement agencies have taken measures “to strengthen the supervision and reception of the Lille public in Bologna” Wednesday evening.

At the beginning of the month, on the sidelines of AS Monaco's visit to Bologna during the 4th day of the Champions League, similar incidents had already occurred in the Italian city, several French media reported. The management of the Monegasque club denounced this violence. “AS Monaco deplores and firmly condemns the attack on supporters that occurred after the match against Bologna”she wrote in a press release.
