He joined the service in 2016 as a preventionist and then quickly rose through the ranks to reach the highest position in the service.
“During his mandate, Mr. Bernier demonstrated exemplary commitment and unwavering loyalty to our organization. Under the direction of Mr. Bernier, the Sainte-Martine Fire Safety Department has reached new standards in terms of staff training, modernized the department’s equipment and strengthened fire prevention in the territory,” mentions Daniel Leblanc, director general of the municipality.
For her part, Ms. Mélanie Lefort, mayor, ensures that Sainte-Martine is working with Mr. Bernier to put in place a plan that will ensure the continuity of operations following his departure. “We currently have a mutual assistance agreement with St-Urbain-Premier and we have recently adopted the intermunicipal mutual assistance agreement in fire safety in the territory of the MRC of Beauharnois-Salaberry.”
A call for applications will take place in 2025.
