Created in 1989 in Maine-et-Loire, three years after the birth of its big national sister under the leadership of the former Minister of Justice Robert Badinter, France Victimes 49 is not yet on the scaffold. But it is one of the many victim support associations to be subject to budget cuts planned by the Region, which is seeking to tighten its belt with 100 million euros in savings. The regional subsidy, increased from €30,000 in 2023 to €27,000 in 2024, should simply be eliminated in 2025, to the great dismay of Claire Pogu.
