Dramatic assessment for a accident of traffic in Indre-et-Loire, Sunday June 30, 2024, on the road which leads from Tours au Mans.

A man is mortand teenager seriously injured was transported by helicopter to the Trousseau hospital in Tours and a couple in their fifties who were more lightly injured were also taken to the same hospital, reports the Indre-et-Loire departmental fire and rescue service (SDIS37).

Car against motorhome: one dead and three injured

A collision between a car and a camper van took place on the departmental road 938, in the municipal territory of Saint-Christophe-sur-le-Nais at the end of the afternoon, at the place called La Petite Belle Etoile, very close to the town of Dissay-sous-Courcillon (Sarthe).

When help arrived, the driver of the car, a 59-year-old man, was trapped in the vehicle and in cardio-respiratory arrest.

The three passengers in the camper van, one couple in their fifties and a 16-year-old boy were also injured.

The death of the driver of the car declared at the scene

The mobile emergency and resuscitation service (SMUR) arrived quickly on the scene in helicopter.

Despite their efforts, the emergency doctors were unable to resuscitate the car driver whose death was declared at the scene of the accident.

The seriously injured young man was taken care of and evacuated by the SMUR helicopter.

The road between Tours and Le Mans cut

The road must have been cut off throughout the duration of the intervention.

THE gendarmes were present at the scene. An investigation has been opened to determine the causes of this tragedy.

The intervention mobilized twenty firefighters and six vehicles.
