If the sun had illuminated the Clisson site until now, the rain unfortunately invited itself to Hellfest this Saturday, June 29, 2024, starting in the morning. However, the rain did not stop the festival-goers. They therefore dressed accordingly and took out the flagship rain gear that every festival-goer must have, namely the famous poncho, and preferably black. Hellfest.

First highlight of the day with the powerful and invigorating set from New Zealanders Alien Weaponry ! This is not the first time that the trio has visited the Clisson site. We can even say that they are starting to become regulars, since Alien Weaponry has already performed at Hellfest twice in recent years (2019 and 2022). And once again, the combo took us on a journey. The drummer even offered us at the start of the concert an impressive demonstration of the famous haka on the Mainstage 1 !

The rest of the set Alien Weaponry was just as exhilarating with energetic thrash metal to go headbanger festival-goers, all mixed with their Maori roots. The result is an incredibly captivating style, carried by an energetic trio that we are likely to hear about for a long time. And the fans were in heaven, when Alien Weapony performed his excellent singles “ Struggle » et « People Eat ».

This Saturday at 12:15 p.m., there were people under the Temple to attend the very first concert of Fire at Hellfest. It must be said that their compatriots from The HU, invited last year, had been a hit and excited many festival-goers in 2023. Also, many of them wanted to discover Fire This year. Also doing folk rock/metal, the Mongolian group Fire truly took the audience with him thanks to exotic sounds, traditional throat singing and the use of horse-headed violins!

And the atmosphere was there for this very first concert of Fire at Hellfest. The group of Mongolian origin even managed to seat almost the entire audience under the Temple this Saturday noon. And the audience had a blast, swinging their arms and bodies forward and then back, giving rise to a unique and offbeat moment of joy.

There were people on the side of the Valley this Saturday afternoon to witness the return of Brutus au Hellfest ! The post-hardcore trio from Belgium seemed surprised by this world and very touched. Also, the group carried by Stijn Vanhoegaerden on the guitar, Peter Mulders on bass and the talented and impressive Stefanie Mannaerts on drums and vocals, offered a powerful and very successful set as a thank you.

New favorite of the day for this show of Brutus illuminated by the raspy voice of Stefanie Mannaertsby the obvious complicity of the trio and by the hits played this afternoon, among which ” Miles Away », « What Have We Done ” without forgetting the sublime ” What Have We Done » mixing melancholy and anger. With this new concert at Hellfest, Brutus has truly confirmed his undeniable talent and his now essential place in the international metal scene!

New bubbling set from the Norwegians Throttle ceiling ! After a notable show in 2019, the combo led by the energetic and supercharged Ivar Nikolaisen, once again made festival-goers pogo and slam. This time, the group was on the Valley, also full to bursting. I have to say that Throttle ceiling is known for its very angry performances, led by its members with boundless and communicative energy. Explosive and rock’n’rol, pure joy of fury!

This Saturday was also the opportunity to attend the incredible show of the Guardian of Darkness offered by La Compagnie La Machine. Every evening from 10 p.m., the famous Guardian of Darkness wakes up in front of the Kingdom of Muscadet. Spitting fire and water, the latest creation from La Compagnie La Machine is incredibly fascinating. With its piercing gaze and its numerous details on the torso, the illusion is perfect. As for the work carried out by the Company around the legs and tail of the Guardian, it is simply astonishing. Thank you Hellfest for this moment of wonder!

Metallica was obviously the headliner of this day of Saturday June 29, 2024 at Hellfest ! After its huge concert given in 2022, the legendary Californian thrash metal band was keen to return to Clissonin order to overturn the situation once again Mainstage. If the rain started at the beginning of the concert, Metallica quickly managed to warm up the bodies thanks to his many hits played this Saturday evening. From ” Creeping Death ” has ” Master of Puppets ” Passing by ” Enter Sandman », « Sad but True », « For Whom the Bell Tolls » or the most recent « Eternal Lux » et « Shadows Follow »… Metallica delivered an ultra dynamic set and put on a show for a little over 2 hours, all enhanced by pyrotechnic effects, drums coming out of the stage and huge balloons, in the image of the latest album, thrown into the audience. An incredible moment of thrash metal in the company of a legendary band that we never get tired of, quite the contrary!
Fourth and last day for the Hellfest this Sunday June 30 with the highly anticipated concerts of Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Nova Twins and Dimmu Borgir on the menu!
