Higher gas bills
Bad news for households subscribed to natural gas: the energy regulatory commission (CRE) announced that the average price of gas would increase, due in particular to the increase in gas transport costs. On average, we will have to count on an increase of 11.7% compared to the month of June.
Tax correction
Good news on the tax side. If you have made a mistake in your declaration, from July 31, 2024, you will be able to connect to your online space to access the tax correction service. You will have until December 4, 2024 to make the necessary changes and regularize your situation.
A new savings plan for young people
Entitled “future climate savings plan” (PEAC), this new savings plan, reserved for under 21s, will be available from Monday July 1, 2024. It will allow younger people to mobilize their savings in favor of the transition ecological, with blocked amounts and a ceiling set at 22,950 euros. Parents can open it for their child from birth.
“Shrinkflation” labels in stores
“Shrinkflation” is a criticized commercial practice which aims to reduce the quantity of certain everyday products, while maintaining the price. From July, businesses will have the obligation “to clearly indicate the upward trend in the prices of consumer products that have suffered a drop in quantity”, the government specified in a press release.
