Cameroonian football is in mourning. Former international Landry Nguemo lost his life this Thursday, June 27 following a road accident.

Landry N’Guémo has had an honest career. A defensive midfielder with a modest size (1.73 m), he was trained at AS Nancy Lorraine (Ligue
1) with whom he started professionally at the age of 19, in August 2005. He notably won the 2006 League Cup. After four seasons with the club from the Grand Est Region, the Indomitable Lion joined Scotland and Glasgow Rangers for one season, where he finished national vice-champion. He will return to Nancy during the following year, where he will have an XXL season before heading to the Girondins de Bordeaux (2011-2014), where he will win a Coupe de France in 2013, before ending his adventure in the Hexagon in Saint-Etienne in January 2015. In France, he only played in Ligue 1 and never in the lower tier, playing a total of 208 championship matches, scoring 7 goals. He will then have new experiences abroad, first in Turkey between 2015 and 2017 (Akhisar Belediyespor and Kayserispor) then at Kongsvinger IL in Norway in 2019-2020.
Landry N’Guémo also represented the Indomitable Lions 42 times (3 goals) between 2006 and 2014, even reaching the final of the CAN in 2008 (lost 0-1 to Egypt) and participating in the 2010 (a match against the Netherlands) and 2014 (a match against Brazil) World Cups.
