What sauce will the French be eaten with in a few days? As the first round of the legislative elections approaches, the main blocs vying to wrest a majority in the National Assembly have presented their program. Pensions, purchasing power, environment, security… If these different themes are closely scrutinized by voters, they also question the parties’ tax policies.
How will the tax burden which already weighs heavily on households and businesses evolve? This question takes a particular turn this year, as parties multiply costly promises to seduce voters. They will therefore have to be financed… Including, in certain programs, by an increase in compulsory contributions. On this point, policies diverge sharply: for example, if the presidential majority sticks to its position by refusing to increase taxes, the left-wing union assumes its desire to make the most fortunate pay.
