Death of Bofasa Djema: The “Camis” Structure decided to pay worthy tributes to this baobab

After learning the sad news of the disappearance of Bofasa Djema in Kinshasa, the structure known as “CAMIS”, that is to say the initiative committee of the Club of Former Ministers of Sports of the DRC, said it was dismayed.

And quickly, a Program was set up to succeed in paying worthy tributes to the height of what was Bofasa Djema in the sports of our Country.

Meeting by videoconference Tuesday June 25, 2024, around the Chairman of the Board of Directors excellence Denis Kambayi Cimbumbu and Serge Chembo Khonde, Director General of the structure, it was decided to entrust the charge to Mr. Omer EBGAKE YANGEMBE for procedures suitable for the family of the late Bofasa Djema.

By videoconference, former Minister Egwake Omer reassured his peers of his availability to initiate these steps, those of meeting the family of the late Bofasa Djema.

Everyone was given three minutes to share their thoughts and make suggestions.

As a reminder, this structure aims to support the Minister of Sports in office to enable him to succeed in his mandate at the head of the sports sector because, according to PCA Denis Kambayi Cimbumbu, we do not win alone in sports in the DRC.

We must try to approach others. It is also worth noting that “CAMIS” is a vision that considers each Minister of Sports still in office as a partner.

At the top, the structure is led by Serge Chembo Khonde who is General Director of the structure as a coordinator.

Having initiated the project, Denis Kambayi is the Chairman of the board of directors of the said structure.
Egwake Omer, Papy Nyango, Timothy Muteba, Sama Lukonde, Patrick Sulubika, Jean-Jacques Lungwana, Amos Mbayo or Claude Francois Kabulo are automatically part of the club unconditionally.

The Camis is therefore made up of all the Former Ministers of Sports that the DRC has known and who are still alive.
Let us also remember that Bofasa Djema died on Saturday June 22, 2024, in Kinshasa, at the age of 78.

He successfully fulfilled his duties as Minister of Sports between 1992 and 1994, the year during which the Daring Club Môtema Pembe won its only continental trophy of the African Champion Clubs Cup.

Until his death, Bofasa Djema was a national deputy and member of the board of directors of the mining cadastre in the DRC.

Rest in peace.
