After years of living together, the lovebirds took the step of marriage by uniting in the 14th arrondissement of Paris. In an interview given to La Tribune SundayVictor Belmondo gave news of his grandmother, Élodie Constantin, who today lives in the Camargue. “When people talk to me exclusively about grandpa, it’s as if I only had one grandfather. My four grandparents all had the same importance in my development”, he first confided. And to continue: “My father’s mother is of rare elegance, of incredible strength. And despite the hard blows, notably her separation from my grandfather, she never let herself get down. I go to her house very regularly in the Camargue or at my other grandmother’s in Rome. Spending time with them is essential for my life balance.”.

It was during this same interview that Victor Belmondo lifted the veil on the poignant speech he delivered in the courtyard of the Invalides to pay tribute to his grandfather. “It’s true that I am a fairly discreet person and it would not have spontaneously occurred to me to speak in front of the whole of France. But, we were told that it would be good if someone from the family make a speech. Those around me didn’t feel it at all, either, but for them, I was the one who would be the least uncomfortable. I said these words out of love for my elder. -father and for my family”he explained to our colleagues.
