The MGM Studios film grossed some $34.1 million between Friday and Sunday. A result below expectations compared to the budget of a film “supposed from the beginning to be the launch of a saga of action comedies”, estimated David Gross, sector expert for Franchise Entertainment Research.

“The reviews are mediocre, but it's a popular film and it's the audience's feedback that counts,” said David Gross, noting that the feedback has so far been “excellent”.
In second place, Venom : The Last Dance loses ground after three weeks at the top of the box office. The science fiction film from Sony Studios collected $7.4 million between Friday and Sunday, bringing its total revenue in Canada and the United States to 127.6 million.
In this third opus, Tom Hardy once again takes on the role of a dissatisfied journalist who transforms into a terrifying alien with sharp teeth, with Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple and Rhys Ifans at his side.
