“Tatate” Bertrane takes a well-deserved retirement

A nice surprise awaited Bertrane Gautreau, a recently retired childminder, on Saturday at the children's center: a large number of the children she looked after during her career, her family, her friends and her colleagues were gathered to celebrate her retirement.

“Tatate”, as everyone calls him, began his career in 1980 after his marriage to Jean-Jacques. “ I went to see my mother-in-law who was a babysitter at the time, and I really liked it “, she confides. In the process, she obtained her first approval for a child, then two months later a second approval. During her career, she cared for 48 children and her own three children. For all the parents present, there is no doubt: “ Our children were in good hands with Bertrane “. Everyone appreciated his kindness, his patience, his dedication and his professionalism. Even years later, some children still come to visit him. This is the case of Tiphaine, 24, who invited Tatte to her wedding this summer and who came specially from Clermont-Ferrand to pay tribute to him this weekend.

The children read him poems and a slideshow tracing his career was shown. Now, Tatate Bertrane and Uncle Jean-Jacques will be able to use their camper van to travel.
