BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – Partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected overnight. Lows for most of the region will stay above freezing, ranging from mid-30s to low 40s.
A weak ridge will build in for the next few days. This will bring some additional sunshine. Skies will still be partly to mostly cloudy. Temperatures will remain above average with highs for both Tuesday and Wednesday that will reach the 40s and low 50s. I do expect our winds to pick up for Tuesday as northwest winds at times could gust up to 25-30 mph.
Towards the end of the week, we will be watching an approaching low that will be moving into the northeast. This low will bring us beneficial moisture that will help to improve drought conditions across the region. As of right now, rain showers will move into the south & west starting Thursday afternoon and will spread across the rest of the region overnight and into early Friday. Temperatures will play an important role in this forecast. For now, temperatures for most will remain above freezing, this will include daytime highs and overnight lows, which means rain will be the main form of precipitation. There will be a few exceptions, especially in the Western Maine Mountains where we will see the chance for rain changing to snow (Friday night into Saturday morning.) The rain will become more scattered throughout the day on Friday that will continue into Saturday. For most, the precipitation will end by Saturday morning. Rainfall totals will average from 0.50” to 1.50”.
The second half of the weekend will trend drier and cooler.

TUESDAY: Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy. Highs in the 40s and low 50s. NW wind will gust up to 25-30 mph.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy. Highs in the upper 40s and low 50s. NNW wind 5-15 mph.
THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy with afternoon rain showers likely. Highs mostly in the 40s.
FRIDAY: Steady rain in the morning becoming more scattered during the day. Highs in the 40s and low 50s. ENE winds will gust up to 25 mph.
SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy with a few isolated showers. Some flakes are possible in the mountains. Highs in the 40s.
SUNDAY: Partly cloudy. Highs in the upper 40s.
