The Poitiers public prosecutor’s office must open a judicial investigation for attempted murder, the Poitiers public prosecutor, Cyril Lacombe, told us this Monday.
It comes after a fight that occurred on Saturday June 22 around 8 p.m. in the area of Place Leclerc and Grand-Rue in Montmorillon.

A man was injured without knowing the precise severity or nature of his injuries. Initially, the Samu 86 helicopter was called in and then the victim was sent to the local hospital before being transferred to Poitiers.
Locally, unofficially confirmed sources spoke of a young man suffering a knife wound, linked to narcotics. He was reportedly stabbed in the chest.
The prosecutor did not wish to give details at this stage or even confirm that a 21-year-old suspect had indeed been arrested by the gendarmes during the day of Sunday near the scene where the events took place. He was brought to the courthouse on Monday, indicted, then placed in pre-trial detention.
