Forest fires | Evacuation of some of the residents of Port-Cartier

The City of Port-Cartier is advising residents of the Parc Brunel, Parc Dominique and residences north of Route 138 sectors that they must evacuate by 8 p.m. this Friday evening. Forest fires are raging 15 km to the north.

Citizens are invited to head towards Baie-Comeau. A reception center will be set up at the Henry-Leonard Center.

Public transport is organized. People are invited to gather at the L’Abri Educational Center. Municipal authorities say they are aware of the concern caused by the situation. He asks to stay calm.

To follow evolution

The City of Port-Cartier and the MRC of Sept-Rivières are closely monitoring the evolution of the forest fires raging north of Port-Cartier. Fire #211 near Walker Lake is currently out of control.
