Remembrance Day Ceremonies in Toronto

Several Remembrance Day ceremonies are planned for Monday in Toronto in memory of veterans.

A first ceremony began at 8 a.m., shortly after sunrise, at the cemetery Prospectin west Toronto.

This was the 96th edition of this event, which takes place at dawn every year.

The Remembrance Day ceremony took place early Monday morning at Prospect Cemetery in Toronto.

For his part, Ontario Prime Minister Doug Ford will pay tribute “to the bravery, courage and sacrifice of current and former members of the Canadian Armed Forces,” says his office, during a ceremony at Queen’s Park in starting at 10:45 a.m.

The event will take place near the Veterans Monument in front of the Legislative Assembly.

At the same time, a ceremony, organized by the City of Toronto, will take place near the Cenotaph at Old City Hall on Queen Street in the city center.

Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow will speak there, among others.

Remembrance Day ceremonies are also scheduled to take place Monday in Toronto at the Toronto Civic Centers.East YorkEtobicoke and York, as well as Fort York, among others.
