A serious accident occurred at 8:30 a.m. this Saturday morning in Ferques. Four people, who were in two vehicles, were involved in a violent face-to-face incident that occurred on the D 231, route des Carrières. Among them, two children aged 5 and 10, who were in the car of a Wissantaise 27 years old. She was traveling in the direction of Marquise when the accident, a head-on collision, occurred. A 64-year-old man was in the second vehicle, with his two dogs. He is originally from Landrethun-le-Nord.
The extrication operations lasted almost two hours this Saturday morning. Two SAMU helicopters were deployed. The 27-year-old driver was transported by a second SAMU helicopter, towards the Lille hospital center. She was still in serious condition this afternoon. The condition of the second girl, aged 10, was stable, according to our information. She was taken to Duchenne hospital, in Boulogne-sur-Mer, in a fire brigade ambulance.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 64-year-old man, was in a state of absolute emergency. He was transported by firefighters to the Boulogne hospital center. One of the two dogs in his vehicle did not survive the accident.
An open investigation
An impressive emergency response system was deployed to help the four victims. The police completely blocked access to the D231, 200 meters from the accident, for almost the entire morning. A diversion has been put in placethe time of the intervention of the firefighters of Marquise, Ardres, Boulogne and Marck.
The Marquise gendarmes, the Boulogne motorized platoon and the Boulogne gendarmerie surveillance and intervention platoon (PSIG) were also present on site, as was the mayor of the town, Denis Joly. Traffic was reopened around midday, on this busy road, after the accident vehicles were removed by ADMR tow trucks.
