Friday afternoon, OM formalized the permanent transfer of Vitinha to Genoa, a club where the Portuguese striker had been on loan for several months. And the former Braga player, who never managed to confirm the many hopes placed in him at OM, nevertheless wanted to bid a poignant farewell to the Marseille supporters.
Recruited by theABOUT for €32.5M in January 2023, Vitinha had thus become the most expensive transfer in the entire history of the Marseille club. An operation which was not really conclusive since the Portuguese striker never managed to establish himself as an indisputable starter, and he even ended up leaving OM last winter for a loan to the Genoa. A loan that turned into a definitive transfer, and Vitinha officially signed with the Italian club for €16M + €4M on Friday.
