According to final data published by the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Insee) at 8:45 a.m., the harmonized consumer price index (HICP) in France stands at 123.6 points in May 2024 (base 100 in 2015). Established by the European Union, the HICP makes it possible to compare inflation between each country and to calculate the level of inflation at the European level. The HICP is the subject of 2 monthly publications, one provisional (at the end of the month) and one definitive (around the 13th of the following month).
