Françoise Hardy died on June 11, at the age of 80. While the singer has lived her entire life in the capital, many Parisians salute her talent and elegance.

Following the announcement of the death of Françoise Hardy on Tuesday June 11, some Parisians expressed their emotion. The icon of the sixties had her habits in the 16th arrondissement, where she had lived for around ten years.

I met her three weeks ago. She was kind, as usual, very polite, friendly. I found her adorable as a lady, I miss her“, explains a resident of his neighborhood. “She called me by my first name, I called her by her first name. We spoke informally“, says another local resident.

She rocked our youth. I sang his songs all morning“, also reacted a resident.

Françoise Hardy was born on January 17, 1944 in Paris. Raised by her mother, she grew up with her younger sister. Barely an adult, she bought her first apartment in the capital: a studio under the roof.

Carried by the yéyé wave, the singer then established herself as an icon, in France and around the world. “Everyone found this French girl super beautiful. Everyone was interested in her, in her beauty and chic, in her wardrobe. In the city as on stage, she did not dress at all like her elders“, comments Marie-Dominique Lelièvre, journalist and author of the book Françoise Hardy, Distant Star.

Françoise Hardy also lived her relationship with Jacques Dutronc in Paris, where their son, Thomas Dutronc, was born in 1973. All her life, the singer remained attached to the capital.

A report by Antoine Delcourt and Anaëlle Blanchard.
